Between seasons 1 and 2, Susannah passes away from cancer, leaving a lasting mark on every character. Grief ripples through the series right up to the very last scene, when Belly asks Conrad if his love for her was just a consequence of that loss (it wasn’t).

The season 3 finale, though, gave Team Conrad everything they’d been waiting for. A romantic day in Paris, a dance under the moonlight by the Seine and a night that made Conrad’s dreams come true. Han kept fans on edge until the final moment, delivering an ending worthy of a season full of suspense, heartbreak, joy, fear and above all, yearning. So. Much. Yearning.

Yet, behind the emotional intensity was a set filled with laughter. When Vogue India interviewed the cast after the finale last week, Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah Fisher, recalled one scene fondly, “I really enjoyed all the office scenes, but there was this one when Taylor came to visit. Steven and Denise were crossing the street towards us, and Rain [Spencer] started improvising. It was awesome.” Sean Kaufman grinned, “I think I made Rain laugh for real in that scene.” “You always make me laugh for real,” responded Spencer.
