Tamron has been quite successful in the third-party lens manufacturing domain. According to the company’s fiscal year report, the company has showcased a 7% year-on-year drop for the FY2025. The revenue was 41.7 billion yen, with the operating income falling 15.1% to 9.2 billion yen. The result has been due to a decline in the photographic products segment, which makes up about three-quarters of sales.

The company has said they have seen a slowness in Europe, the U.S., and China, which has also impacted the growth in Japan and India. The reduction in orders for OEM models is due to the performance. The U.S. tariffs have also impacted sales. The company has seen a decrease of 650 million yen from net sales and 350 million yen from operating income in the first half of the year.

However, the company has also achieved 90 billion yen in sales and 19.5 billion yen in operating income, which shows great growth. As part of its future plan, the company aims to expand its own-brand photographic products throughout Europe, America, and China. This includes the launch of new lenses, such as 16-30mm f2.8 VXD G2 and 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 VC VXD. The company will continue the plan of launching multiple lenses a year. As it said in the report: “Initial medium-term management plan: targeting 6 to 7 new models a year, achieved 7 new models launches in the first year of the plan. New medium-term management plan: aiming to launch 10 new models a year by 2026.”

As of now, Tamron‘s plan seems on point, since the company is trying to keep its record going. As we have seen with the 16-30mm f2, the company is creating powerful options that will sustain the test of time.
