Canon PowerShot ELPH 360HS
The Canon PowerShot ELPH 360HS is a 12.1MP camera launched in 2016 for the average consumer. Canon PowerShot SX200 IS
One of the oldest Canon PowerShot models on this list, the PowerShot SX200 was launched in 2009. It features a premium design using metal components, a 12.1 MP sensor, and 12x zoom with optical IS. It has a 30fps continuous shooting speed and records 1080p videos. Furthermore, it is equipped with scene modes and color effects, making it a perfect choice for younger users who want a certain look. Furthermore, it is affordable at $100 to $300, but if you want a pristine piece, then the prices can go up to $600.
Each of these Canon compact cameras offers something for a different user base. It isn’t surprising why many people are looking to purchase them, potentially as bridge devices, to step away from their phones. It could also be that casual shooters do not really need an APS-C or an old full frame but a small device that is somewhat better than their phones or offers a unique image quality. This is where the older Canon Powershot lineup comes into play. Perhaps if Canon studies this market, they can truly work on creating cameras that benefit casual photographers.
