Leica Camera AG has launched some exciting cameras over the years. To further assist photographers, Leica has also launched the LUX app, which enables users to create Leica-like images on their phones. Now, as part of the latest addition of changes, the company is allowing photographers a chance to view the images live on their laptops. How so? With the help of Lightroom Classics. Have a look.
According to the company, Leica photographers can now tether their devices’ cameras with ease, thanks to the launch of Adobe Lightroom Classic 15.0. This means you do not need any additional plugins to set up your station, which is a first for Leica’s photographers. “We are delighted that Lightroom Classic now offers native tethering support for Leica cameras,” said Nico Köhler, Head of Product Experience at Leica Camera AG. “This development is the result of close collaboration between Leica Camera and Adobe, aimed at optimising photographic workflows and further enhancing the Leica user experience.”
The new native tethering will be available for cameras such as the Leica SL3, SL3-S, Q3, and Q3 43. Although this is currently the case, the company stated that it will add the live view feature to other models as well. At the same time, the live view function also features “autofocus point selection,” which can be used in real-time with Adobe’s software. Photographers will then get better control over over exposure, aperture, ISO, and white balance, making it quite easy to shoot even in challenging surroundings.
Something like this can be helpful for studio and portrait photographers, as well as fashion photographers. If this is available for M-series cameras, it provides a lot of control over one’s images. Moreover, M-series cameras are manual in nature, which will further help photographers achieve the best focus in their images. It seems too late for Adobe to include Leica in its list of cameras, but it is better than not doing so. If you are a SL3 user, consider giving Lightroom Classic a try. It may just make your workflow a bit easier.
